   Minutes from The Village is the Highgate Commons shopping center with JoAnne's Fabrics, Staples, Radio Shack, TJ Max, Peebles, Hannaford supermarket and numerous other stores. Price Chopper is across the street. Also nearby, Wal-Mart is in its final permitting stage and should be ready for construction within a year.         
    With free parking, shopping downtown St. Albans City is easy and convenient. Unique boutiques and specialty shops are located along the historic streets.  Taylor Park is also downtown and offers walking paths, benches, a Gazebo, summer concerts and a Farmer’s Market every Saturday in the summer.
